Book of Illustrations
A publication filled with illustrations of creatures with a laser-printed cover. The setting of the illustrations is the forest and forest creatures. Also, the illustrations are filled with patterns.
An essential element of this project was time management. This is because I only had a few weeks to complete the book. This challenge was solved with careful planning and by knowing my limits.
Something new I tried for this book was using Procreate to make the illustrations. I had never used Procreate in a publication’s design before. Therefore, I was curious how this tool would work for my project.
A few programs were used to make this publication: Procreate and InDesign. Procreate was used to create this illustration, and InDesign was used to assemble the publication.
Book of Illustrations Process
For this final assignment, as long as it was a publication, we could make whatever we wanted. I wanted to have fun with this publication. This is the primary reason I chose to make a book of illustrations because that’s what I wanted to do.
Having a wide range of skills is pivotal, so I decided to illustrate forest scenes. This was an excellent opportunity to further my skills since I have minimal experience with illustrating full scenes.
Once I completed the illustrations, I used Indesign to arrange the illustrations so they would appear properly in the printed publication.
After printing the pages, I cut off the excess and used coptic binding to bind the publication.
